The Shamrocks, whose home pub is Pheasants Landing in Hillsborough, took second place in the Central Jersey Local Team Championship Cities Tournament.
A member of the American Poolplayers Association, the team is led by captain James Burke Sr. and co-captain Paul Sullivan, both from Hillsborough. The Shamrocks took first place in the spring to qualify to play at the Manville VFW in the Cities two-day tournament of top-level pool players from throughout the state. The Shamrocks made it to the championship game. The competition was only surpassed by the sportsmanship recognized by all players.
