WEST AMWELL — Karen Conlon, of North Union Street, Lambertville, was appointed to the South Hunterdon Regional High School board on June 6.
Ms. Conlon’s appointment runs through the end of this year. She replaces Robert Campbell, of Lambertville.
Ms. Conlon was one of two who filed to run for the two Lambertville seats in the Nov. 6 election.
Ms. Conlon has considerable experience in civic affairs.
She served on the Lambertville Public School board for three years and for three years on both the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment in that city.
She has been a member of the Lambertville PTA (Parent Teachers Association) and was co-chairwoman of the “Get Out the Vote” campaign for the 2010 South Hunterdon school budget.
She also is a member of the South Hunterdon Regional High School Regionalization Task Force.
A referendum on combining the South Hunterdon, Lambertville, Stockton and West Amwell districts into one regional district might be held eventually — following the issuance of a report on the proposed regionalization from the state education commissioner. That report is expected to be released soon.
Ms. Conlon has a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing from La Salle University, Philadelphia. She works for Global Exchange Group, a division of Fulton Bank, as a business development manager. She has been with that firm since 1997.
