CHAPTER B
On June 14, Chapter B members celebrated their 19th anniversary as a club. Close to 200 members and guests met for a luncheon at the Mary Mother of God Church.
Since this was also Flag Day, we were treated to a beautifully decorated room with lots of red, white and blue balloons on the tables along with white tablecloths and red napkins. This was the first time we used this auditorium and we all had such a great time.
The affair was catered by Elmer’s Catering Service and we started out with a fantastic social hour with delicious appetizers. This was followed by a sitdown dinner with choices of roast beef, stuffed baked chicken or flounder stuffed with crabmeat. Everyone seemed pleased. The DJ was great and he kept dancers on the floor all afternoon.
How are we going to top this next year when we celebrate 20 years?
Many thanks to all those who served on the committee and a special thanks to Nancy and Ed Bertin, our co-presidents, for all their efforts.
Our Breakfast with Seniors is being held at the Municipal Building on June 21. Doors open at 9 a.m. and we are serving pancakes, eggs, sausages, coffee, juice, bagels and pastries. At our June breakfast, we invite the residents of Emeritus and Avalon assisted living centers to join us. It’s a fun day for all and we end the day with bingo games, which everyone enjoys.
Next month on July 12, we will be back at the Municipal Building for our regular meeting on the second Thursday.
Doors open at 10:30 a.m. with tickets for special events going on sale at 11. We will have our annual ice cream social with members getting to choose flavors and toppings for sundaes. This is a much-enjoyed treat. Don’t miss it.
