A 36-year-old Lawrence Township man has been charged with sexual assault, lewdness and endangering the welfare of children after he allegedly exposed himself to three girls as they walked their dog in the White Pine Apartments development June 15, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.
Giovanni Baulo, 36, who lives in the apartment complex on Skillman Avenue, allegedly approached the girls — two 10-year-olds and a 3-year-old — as they were walking their dog around 8 p.m., said Casey DeBlasio, a spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office.
Mr. Baulo approached them and began talking to them about their dog, Ms. DeBlasio said. As he was talking to the girls, he allegedly exposed his penis and began touching himself in their presence, she said. He was charged with sexual assault for allegedly touching himself, she said.
The girls went home and told a family member what had happened, Ms. DeBlasio said. The family member called the Police Department, which conducted the investigation along with the prosecutor’s office, she said.
Mr. Baulo was released on $100,000 bail from the Mercer County Corrections Center, Ms. DeBlasio said.
