LAMBERTVILLE: City can get new police vehicle

   LAMBERTVILLE — A Ford Focus for the Lambertville police department can be purchased from Ditschman Ford for $14,370 under a resolution passed by City Council Monday night.
   The Focus will replace a 2008 Ford Crown Victoria totaled in an accident.
   — Also at Monday night’s meeting, painting of the exterior of the police department can be done by Robert Brown Painting for $6,680 under a resolution adopted by council. The funding is available through a previously adopted ordinance.
   Painting of the city clerk’s office by Pro-Coat Inc. for $3,700 can be done under another resolution passed Monday night. That funding also is available through a previously adopted ordinance.
   — Under a proposed ordinance introduced Monday, the city could accept ownership of streets in the Lamberts Hill development. A public hearing and adoption vote on that ordinance is expected at a council meeting next month.
   In December 2011, city officials said they had scored a major victory for the residents of the 129-home Lamberts Hill development, located off Phillips Barber Road.
   Orleans Homebuilders, the firm that built Lamberts Hill, had gone bankrupt before finishing required work on roads, sidewalks, landscaping and other areas. Officials and residents had been working for months to get Orleans to agree to finish that work. And finally, an agreement had been reached.
   Mayor David Del Vecchio announced at the Nov. 21, 2011 council meeting that Orleans had agreed to begin work on finishing the roads.)
   — It was announced that a free rabies clinic will be held Sept. 15 from 1-3 p.m. at the Union Firehouse,
   Also announced were the vacancies on a number of city boards and commissions, including the Environmental Commission, Cable TV Committee, Public Library, Shade Tree Commission and Zoning Board of Adjustment.
