New Egypt Gears Up for Rockin’ Fireworks on June 30;
The Chiclettes, Sheryl Lynn and John Cantamessa to Rock Concert Stage

NEW EGYPT, NJ, June 22, 2012 — Plumsted Township and New Egypt Elks Lodge #2457 will present the 12th annual Rockin’ Fireworks Festival on Saturday, June 30 at the New Egypt Athletic Fields, 121 Evergreen Road.  Entry begins at 3 pm for the celebration that offers a wide array of food, beverage and merchandise vendors, carnival games, special performances and a concert that includes New York’s premier girl group tribute band, the Chiclettes, country music’s Sheryl Lynn and John Cantamessa.
The festival includes performances by the Sea Dogs, a New Jersey-based band and pirate re-enactment group. Starting at 4 pm, the Sea Dogs will perform sea shanties songs of the sea, and swashbuckling pirate re-enactments that they promise will be fun and informative for land lubbers and salty dogs of all ages.
John Cantamessa kicks off the concert at 6 pm performing a wide variety of music styles, from rock to country, originals to covers and a whole lot more. Sheryl Lynn takes the stage next.  Ms. Lynn is a local NJ country music artist whose style is said to be a collision between Gretchen Wilson and Loretta Lynn — contemporary with a touch of the traditional. Lastly, The Chiclettes will bring their music diversity to New Egypt, performing a wide array of dance favorites from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, and today’s girl groups. Their playlist includes hits of the 1950s like Heatwave by Martha & The Vandellas to modern day hits like Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance.
The celebration’s Rockin’ Fireworks display will kick off at approximately 9:30 pm.
