HIGHTSTOWN — Buses and heavy rigs will have a few more days — including the Fourth of July — to travel across the Route 33 bridge in town.
The bridge’s construction and repair project has been delayed by one week by the New Jersey Department of Transportation. The new start date for this project is July 5.
According to borough Business Administrator Michael Theokas, the decision by DOT to push back the project was for the DOT to acquire additional supplies and complete additional preparation work that was needed.
It previously had been announced at the last Borough Council meeting that the construction would start June 28 as reported last week in the Windsor-Hights Herald.
