Robert Orlowski needs support in quest for $10,000
Robert Orlowski is a few steps away to being eligible to win $10,000 through Expedia’s short film competition.
The 2010 Hillsborough High School graduate is in the top 10 most voted videos but needs to hold the position until July 9 to be eligible to compete to win the money.
”I am really thrilled that my friends are so enthusiastic about supporting me,” said Mr. Orlowski. “But I would love it if my entire community could get behind me as well.”
His campaign started as soon as the contest began. He created a Facebook group and invited begged? more than 800 friends to click to vote for the video. As word spread, Prime Skateshop in Hillsborough, started with pleas to support one of their team videographers.
Rich Peterson, owner of Prime, said, “Rob has been coming to the shop and representing Prime ever since it was open, and when asked to support his film, I couldn’t say no.”
Mr. Orlowski is competing against 37 filmmakers. The number of votes increases every day.
”I am competing against some of the best young filmmakers in the nation,” said Mr. Orlowski. “My only hope is that my community can help and give me enough votes to allow me to compete against the other videos.”

Mr. Orlowski is a junior at The American University in Washington, D.C., studying film and media arts.
Mr. Orlowski started working professionally at age of 16 with mentoring of Eric Pomerantz, the owner of Creative Unlimited, located in Somerset. ’Rob premiered his first full-length film, “Easy, Jersey”, at Prime Skate Shop, at the end of his high school senior year.
