RINGOES: Independence weekend supports veterans

On the weekend of July 7 and 8, Old York Cellars, located at 80 Old York Road in Ringoes, will host a two-day charity event, “Independence Wine and Music Weekend: Supporting our Veterans,” from noon-5 p.m. each day.
The event will include live music, featuring performances by The Way-Back Machine on Saturday and Shore Soundz on Sunday.
Wines will be available for tasting and sales, and food will be available for purchase from The Mad Chef of Flemington.
The winery’s Vista Room will feature an art exhibit by photographer Sharon Mendelson, and visitors are encouraged to enter a free art raffle for an original, framed photograph.
   Admission is $10 per person.
Old York Cellars will donate 100 percent of all admissions, as well as 10 percent of wine sales during the weekend to Hope for Veterans, in honor of Bernard Brienes, uncle of the winery’s owner and an Army veteran, who died recently.
