• The Plumsted Township Republican Club is sponsoring a bus trip to the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in NewYork City onAug. 8 orAug. 14. Adate will be selected once 45 participants sign up. • The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) has formed a new group that will meet from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month at the Jackson Senior Center, 45 Don Connor Blvd., Jackson. DBSA is a self-help group created to provide a support network for mental health consumers (and their family and friends) who suffer from depression, anxiety and other mental health difficulties. • Summer safety will be the subject of a seminar presented by Dr. Robert Chen, a geriatric specialist, at 3:30 p.m. July 11 at the Orchards at Bartley, 100 North County Line Road, Jackson. Topics will include preventing heat-related illness, heat cramps, heat edema, general care for heat emergencies, and steps for sun protection.
