• The Plumsted Township Republican Club is sponsoring a bus trip to the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in NewYork City onAug. 8 orAug. 14. Adate will be selected once 45 participants sign up. The fee is $50 for adults; $47 for people age 62 and over; $47 for college students with I.D.; $44 for veterans; $46 for ages 7-17; and $44 for ages 3-6. Bus pickup will be in the New Egypt High School parking lot on Evergreen Road, Plumsted.

• The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA) has formed a new group that will meet from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of every month at the Jackson Senior Center, 45 Don Connor Blvd., Jackson. DBSA is a self-help group created to provide a support network for mental health consumers (and their family and friends) who suffer from depression, anxiety and other mental health difficulties. • Summer safety will be the subject of a seminar presented by Dr. Robert Chen, a geriatric specialist, at 3:30 p.m. July 11 at the Orchards at Bartley, 100 North County Line Road, Jackson. Topics will include preventing heat-related illness, heat cramps, heat edema, general care for heat emergencies, and steps for sun protection. Dr. Chen will also discuss photosensitivity, photosensitizing medications, common medications, and rare photosensitive reactions, and he will give outdoor tips. Details and reservations: 732-730-1700.
