   Qigong at South Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Lane, Monmouth Junction, in Meeting Room A/B, call the Information Desk at 732-329-4000, ext. 7286 or go to www.sbpl.info/calendar/ . Class runs through July 16, 23, 30; Aug. 6 & 13. Learn Qigong (pronounced “chee-gung”), the practice of aligning breath, movement, and awareness for exercise, healing, and meditation. Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing and bring water to stay hydrated. These exercises can be done sitting on a chair for those who find it necessary.    A new session of pilates will start at 9:15 a.m. at the South Brunswick Senior Center in the Municipal Complex Route 522. The instructor Maryanne Carroll is leading this exercise class. This is an eight-week session and the cost is $24. Please register by June 26.Pilates dramatically transforms the way your body looks, feels and performs.    A new session of Chair Yoga class will be starting at 10:30 a.m. at the South Brunswick Senior Center in the Municipal Complex Route 522. Please register by June 26. The session runs for eight weeks at a cost of $32. Chair Yoga engages your body, mind and spirit which may lead to a feeling of self–reliance and control over pain.    Creative Writing Workshop: Memoirs and the Art of Correspondence: 2 p.m. at the South Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Lane, Monmouth Junction, in Meeting Room A/B, 732-329-4000, ext. 7286. This Adult Summer Reading program will focus on creative writing – particularly on writing your life memoir or correspondence. Journaling will be discussed and topics will be shared. Bring a favorite pen and paper if you wish – supplies will also be available.

   An Art Lecture at 12:30 p.m. at the South Brunswick Senior Center in the municipal complex, Route 522. Maurice Mahler a historian, lecturer and artist will discuss Charles Thomas, a painter and photographer who achieved fame as a photorealist, through his massive-scale portraits. Though a catastrophic spinal artery collapse in 1988 left him severely paralyzed, he has continued to paint and produce work that remains sought after by museums and collectors.    Explore the Night: 2 p.m. at the South Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Lane, Monmouth JctLed by Princeton University professor Robert Vanderbei, topics will include amateur astronomy, night photography, star gazing, and more. Professor Vanerbei is the author of “Sizing Up the Universe,” published by National Geographic in 2010, featuring his astrophotography. He is also a member of the Amateur Astronomers Association of Princeton.

   Relaxation & Sleep Craft Workshop: 2 p.m. at the South Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Lane, Monmouth Jct. Make a lavender sachet at this Adult Summer Reading program. Lavender was traditionally inhaled to ease exhaustion, insomnia, irritability, and depression. There will be a materials fee of $5.

   Parenting Workshop: Social Skills for Children (All Abilities) between Ages 3-6: at 7 p.m. at the South Brunswick Public Library, 110 Kingston Lane, Monmouth Jct.Wear comfortable clothes and be prepared to be actively involved in this learning process. The program is conducted by Allison Ingram, a licensed speech specialist, and a certified ChildLight Yoga instructor. Music and movement are a cornerstone of her therapy.

Robin Kessler, from R&D Internet Associates, will give a free seminar on keeping your data safe and the best backup solutions. She will also demonstrate Microsoft Office 2010. There will be raffles for a full version of Second Copy Backup Program, a full version of Microsoft Office 2010 Pro, and a full licensed version of Windows 7 Ultimate. Everyone who attends will receive a manual and a small gift. Registration is recommended but walk-ins are welcome.
