POLICE BLOTTER: Week of July 12

   Hillsborough Volunteer Fire Co. No. 36 and Neshanic Fire Co. No. 48 were called to Van Fleet Court on July 9 at 9:43 a.m. after Israelita Romero’s oven caught fire, police said.
   Police said there was no structural damage to the home, but Ms. Romero suffered severe burns to both of her legs.
   The fire was put out by the time help arrived, and Ms. Romero was transported to St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston for treatment via helicopter.
   The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Hillsborough Township Fire Safety Bureau.
   Police said they charged a man with drunken driving after he crashed his car on Farm Road on June 10.
   Victor Morales, 27, of Middlesex, also was charged with careless driving and failure to maintain lane.
   A Meadowbrook Drive resident called police June 16 to report his car was burglarized overnight.
   The only missing thing was a can of soda.
   June 18, a Warren Drive resident told police car rims and copper wire valued at $1,500 were taken from his driveway over the period of several days.
   Kevin Chacon, 20, of Hillsborough, was arrested June 30 on an outstanding warrant from Branchburg during a traffic stop on Dukes Parkway East.
   Police arrested John Hall III on an outstanding warrant from Deptford Township during a traffic stop on Route 206 on June 30.
