Township Social Services Director Lou Anne Wolf said that the Township Food pantry is almost out of groceries.
”Our numbers have increased and we are seeing close to 60 families on a consistent basis,” Ms. Wolf said in an email this week. “With schools closed and children not doing food drives for us, we are greatly in need of filling our shelves.”
Ms. Wolf said the following items are desperately needed by the pantry: Healthy lower fat/sugar snack foods, canned fruit, rice, canned meats such as tuna, chicken, beef stew and chili, hearty soups, canned corn and green vegetables, peanut butter and jelly(or almond/cashew butter), boxed potatoes, boxed cake, brownie, and muffin mixes and icing.
The pantry is also completely out of both coffee and tea, according to Ms. Wolf.
Items can be dropped off at the municipal building on Route 522 during normal business hours.
