Snow began her career with a mid-sized firm which later merged into a large regional firm. While there, she worked as an auditor and later transferred to the tax department where she worked as a senior tax accountant. She devotes her professional time to major areas of taxation, which include real estate entities and closely held businesses, and taxation issues for personal income tax clients, and she is involved in continued education in the accounting field.

Jersey Shore Public Relations and Advertising Association has announced that the deadline for entries for the 2012 annual Jasper Awards, which honor excellence in communications, is 5 p.m. Aug. 3.

Eligible entries include communication tools that have been developed for a New Jersey-based company or by a New Jerseybased agency between July 1, 2011, and June 30, 2012. Anyone who conducts business in New Jersey may enter the competition. Local adaptations of national campaigns are not eligible.

Register entries online at the website awards.jspraa.com. After registering, prepare entries using guidelines found in the downloadable Rules and Categories PDF and send them to the specified location for judging.

Entry fees support the James R. Mc- Cormick Scholarship Fund, established in 1983, to recognize the outstanding achievements of Monmouth and Ocean county students who are focusing on communications or advertising. LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, a British brand of ethical and innovative bath, body, skin and hair care products, will open a shop in the Freehold Raceway Mall, Freehold Township, this summer.

LUSH has made its mark in the United States marketplace since 2001 by offering customers products that are 100 percent vegetarian, use natural and organic ingredients, and are fun and effective.

Products range from signature bath melts and solid shampoo bars, to face cleansers, foot scrubs, hair masks and natural deodorants.

The 658-square-foot store boasts an ecofriendly design and includes sustainablesourced wood, low-toxic paint and reduced use of medium-density fiberboard (MDF) by using black paint to create deli blackboards.

Renee Armour, M.D., a board-certified general surgeon, has joined the surgical team at CentraState Healthcare System, Freehold Township. Dr. Armour specializes in the surgical treatment of breast cancer and other diseases of the breast.

Dr. Armour earned a medical degree from MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine, Philadelphia, Pa., and completed a residency in general surgery at Cooper University Hospital, UMDNJ-RWJ Camden Campus.

In addition, she completed a fellowship in breast surgery at the Breast Health Institute at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, Pa.

The Howell Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Bowl-a-Thon from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Aug. 2 at Howell Lanes, Route 9 south, Howell. The event will include bowling, networking, music, refreshments and prizes. Business operators can sponsor a lane, which includes a banner and three games for four bowlers. The Jersey Shore Association for Human Resources, Neptune, has named Michelle Walsh of Howell as the 2012 recipient of the Ann C. Edwards, SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) Scholarship. The $1,000 award is presented each year to a member’s child who is pursuing post-high school studies.

Walsh, a 2012 graduate of Howell High School, is planning to attend Brookdale’s Communiversity program to pursue a degree in labor and employment relations through the Rutgers University School of Management.

The Ann C. Edwards SPHR Scholarship is given annually as a tribute to Ann C. Edwards, a founding member of JSAHR who served in various leadership roles in the human resources’ profession in New Jersey.
