HILLSBOROUGH: Local students earn their college degrees

   Stacey K. Mardekian, M.D., graduated from Drexel University College of Medicine on May 18. She is beginning a residency in pathology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
   Stacey is a 2004 graduate of Hillsborough High School and the daughter of Jack and Stephanie Mardekian of Hillsborough.

   Kasey Smith of Hillsborough was one of 575 graduates at Hood College in Frederick, Md., on May 19. She graduated with a bachelor of arts degree, cum laude.
   The school presented degrees to 361 undergraduates and 214 graduate students, making this the largest graduating classes in Hood College’s history.

   In May, Gregory Kenneth Johnson graduated from Clemson University in South Carolina, with a bachelor or science degree in mechanical engineering and a minor in mathematics.
   He graduated from Hillsborough High School in May 2008, and plans on attending graduate school in the fall.

   Two Hillsborough residents have graduated from La Salle University in Philadelphia.
   They are Brittany Payne, who gained a bachelor’s degree in communication on May 20, and Jennifer Squillante, who earned his master’s degree in computer information science on May 18.
