HOPEWELL TOWNSHIP A Pennsylvania man drowned in a pool at a Creek Rim Drive residence early Saturday morning.
Collin Abrams, 21, of Jonathan Way, Washington Crossing, Pa., died around 4 a.m. Saturday at Capital Health Medical Center, Hopewell.
Township police “are investigating the incident to determine the cause and if alcohol played any role in the death. It is believed the victim could swim at the time of the incident,” Lt. Lance Maloney said Monday.
Mr. Abrams was a guest at the residence of Noah Simon, 21, of Creek Rim Drive in the Forrest Blend section of Hopewell Township, police said.
There is an in-ground swimming pool about 8 feet deep at the deepest section on the property.
Police said Mr. Abrams was last seen swimming in the pool by himself approximately 30 minutes prior to being discovered around 2:50 a.m.
Thomas Healy, 21, of Lafayette Street, Hopewell Borough, “discovered the victim at the bottom of the pool and pulled him from the deep end.”
”Hopewell Township police were the first to arrive and CPR was in progress,” the lieutenant said.
Officers continued CPR and Mr. Abrams was transported to Capital Health Medical Center by Union Fire and Rescue.
