POLICE BLOTTER

   Lt. Stephen J. Bartzak, commanding officer, West Amwell Township Police Department, reported:
   — On July 7, at approximately 3:25 p.m., a couple residing in New Hope reported the theft of several credit cards from their vehicle that was parked on Route 29 near Old River Road, near the canal path. The theft occurred sometime between 9:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. when the vehicle was left unattended. A total of approximately $9,000 was reported charged to the cards in a three- hour period. Patrolman Jonathan Sellner is investigating.
   — On July 7 at approximately 2:12 a.m., patrols went to a one-vehicle accident with injuries. on Brunswick Pike (Route 518) near Rock Road West.
   Brandon Ennis, 20, of Lambertville,, was driving west when his vehicle struck a deer. His vehicle went out of control, left the roadway onto the lawn of a private residence and rolled over. He sustained head and hand injuries and was treated at the scene by the Lambertville-New Hope Rescue Squad. He subsequently was flown via New Jersey State Police Northstar helicopter to Helen Fuld Trauma Center in Trenton,
   West Amwell Fire/Rescue also responded to the scene.
   Police suspect alcohol was a contributing factor to the accident. Mr. Ennis was charged by Patrolman Anthony Goccia Jr. with driving while intoxicated, underage driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license, reckless driving and failure to wear a seatbelt.
   — On July 8 at approximately 5:43 p.m., Patrolman John Casella arrested Dennis Angeline, 26, of Newtown, Pennsylvania, for possession of marijuana and other offenses after stopping him on Route 179 for speeding. After speaking with Mr. Angeline, police seized two clear plastic bags containing suspected marijuana. Mr. Angeline was charged with possession of suspected marijuana under 50 grams, possession of drug paraphernalia and issued motor vehicle summonses for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and speeding. He was released on his own recognizance.
   — On July 8 at approximately 9:45 p.m., Patrolman Anthony Goccia Jr. arrested Xavier Lucret, 19, of Trenton, on a traffic warrant issued by Trenton Municipal Court for failure to appear. He was seen driving on a section of Route 179 that was closed due to Jersey Central Power and Light operations. A computer check revealed the warrant and that Mr. Lucret was driving while suspended, driving unlicensed and having an unregistered vehicle. He was released on his own recognizance per a bail waiver by Trenton Municipal Court.
   — On July 9 at 1:24 a.m., police responded to a car/deer accident on Route 179 near Mill Road. Constance Miller, 58, of Doylestown, Pennsylvania, was driving south when her vehicle struck the deer. No injuries were reported. The vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage and was towed from the scene. Patrolman Casella took the report.
    The filing of a Motor Vehicle and/or Criminal Complaint is merely a step in the Criminal Justice System process. The Defendants are presumed innocent until the matter is resolved in a court of law.
