Musicians from School of Rock Princeton’s Summer Boot Camps will perform a series of free Friday afternoon concerts at McGuinn’s Place in Trenton.
The students, who range in age from 8 to 18, will present songs that they’ve learned in the school’s themed summer camp weeks, which are taking place at School of Rock Princeton in July and August.
“On the Mondays of each camp week, the campers are organized into bands,” explains Mike Vlaanderen, general manager of School of Rock Princeton. “Tuesdays and Wednesdays, the campers learn their repertoire. Thursdays are final rehearsals, and on Friday, the volume gets cranked and bands are on stage. It’s a great way for our young musicians to learn new music, gain some valuable musical knowledge, make new friends, and best of all, have a blast.”
The schedule of the School of Rock Princeton Friday afternoon summer concert series is as follows:
July 27 – GET THE LED OUT, featuring the most important, influential, and top requested anthems of Led Zeppelin.
August 3 – OZZFEST, featuring music by bands that have performed on the world famous Ozzfest tours, including Ozzy Osbourne, Pantera, Slayer, Judas Priest, Black Label Society, Marilyn Manson, and more.
August 10 – DAVE GROHL, featuring an assortment of songs by the many bands of Dave Grohl, including Nirvana, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age, Tenacious D, and more.
Show time for each of the School’s Friday performances is 5PM at McGuinn’s Place, 1781 Brunswick Avenue in Trenton. Admission to all shows is free. All ages are welcome.
