New Jersey Roofer Embarks on 500-Mile Bike Ride

By ROOF4ROOF.org
A New Jersey resident begins his 500-mile bicycle ride across three states in hopes of helping struggling homeowners. Chuck Anania will start his trek on Tuesday, August 24th, at Trenton’s famous "Five Points" intersection located at North Broad Street and North Warren Street in Trenton.
Chuck’s bicycle ride will take him across New Jersey, Connecticut and New York, spanning more than 130 towns. Chuck will never be confused with Lance Armstrong, or even a weekend warrior. He’s just a New Jersey roofer who is trying to raise awareness for a project that helps struggling homeowners with free emergency roofing in the Tri-State area. Roof4Roof also entire communities in the countries, Columbia and Guatemala, with free roofing.
Chuck will be available for interviews before he embarks on his 500-mile bike ride. He can answer questions and will be available for photos or video as he leaves Trenton for his marathon ride that will span 3-weeks of physical and mental endurance. Chuck Anania is NOT Lance Armstrong, but next week he will ride his bike 500-miles across New Jersey, New York and Connecticut in hopes of helping struggling homeowners.
Chuck will start his bike ride in Trenton on July 24th and cycle across more than 100 communities, including yours, ending his trip in Times Square on August 7th.
Who is Chuck?
Chuck will never be confused for Lance Armstrong or even a weekend warrior. He’s just a roofer who is trying to make a difference in this world. Chuck first began replacing roofs for families in need back in 2010 after he visited Colombia and saw poverty beyond his imagination. He decided to put his skills as a roofer to work on that trip and immediately began installing new roofs for a community in Cali, Colombia.
The "500 Miles -4- 500 Roofs" is an inspiring story of one man, putting his physical and mental capacity to work in hopes of helping others.
What is Roof4Roof?
Chuck founded Roof4Roof – a project that helps struggling families with emergency roofing repairs – One for One. For every new roof installed in the Tri-State area, Roof4Roof provides emergency roofing repair free of charge for a struggling family in our area. And for every commercial roofing project in the Tri-State area, Roof4Roof helps a community in Colombia and Guatemala where some homes don’t even have roofs.
It’s easy to find communities in need in other countries, but it’s not as easy to find struggling homeowners in the Tri-State area who can benefit from the Roof4Roof project. Habitat for Humanity in New Jersey and local churches have referred some families to Roof4Roof, but the waiting list of people to help is nearly empty. Finding families in need of emergency roofing work is one reason why Chuck is trying to raise awareness for the Roof4Roof project. In addition to letting people know about the project, we also hope families in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut will learn that this program exists and can help them.
Your community is one of the 100+ towns that Chuck will be riding through. I wanted to see if you would be interested in speaking with him before or during his bicycle ride through your town. He can elaborate on:
*How this bike ride will help struggling families in your area.
*How can local homeowners let their roof make a difference.
*What can this project teach us about community spirit.
*What is this 500-bike ride teaching Chuck about mental perseverance and physical endurance. And what can we learn from it?
