Millstone
A New York City man sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Route 537 and Pine Drive at 8:35 p.m., July 18, state police said.
According to State Police Lt. Tom Janicky, the driver of a 2011 Chevy HHR, David Birse, 27, of the Bronx, made an improper left turn onto Pine Drive and was struck by a 2002 Toyota Tundra pickup driven by Tyler Emery. Millstone firefighters needed to use hydraulic extrication tools to free Mr. Birse from the wreckage.
The Millstone First Aid Squad transported Mr. Birse to Jersey Shore University Medical Center where he was admitted with serious injuries, Lt. Janicky said. The hospital said Tuesday that Mr. Birse has since been discharged.
Summons are pending against Mr. Birse, Lt. Janicky said.
Mr. Emery, whose age and hometown were unavailable, was not seriously injured, state police said.
Robbinsville
John Carino Jr., 21, of Pemberton, was charged with possession of marijuana and other offenses at 12:21 a.m., July 22, police said.
Patrolman Thomas Paglione saw a vehicle speeding on Route 130 South and pulled it over near Z&Z Auto, police said. During the traffic stop, the officer detected evidence of narcotics and a subsequent search revealed a small quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.
Mr. Carino was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, having a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) in a motor vehicle and speeding, police said. He was arrested, charged and released pending court.
Klever Gonzalez, 31, of Trenton, was charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI) and other offenses at 2:55 a.m., July 21, police said.
Patrolman William Swanhart saw a vehicle traveling well below the posted speed limit on Route 130 and failing to maintain its lane, police said. The officer pulled the vehicle over near Gordon Road and asked the driver to perform field sobriety tests, which he failed.
Mr. Gonzalez was also charged with reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane, being an unlicensed driver and delaying traffic, police said. He was arrested, charged and released pending court.
Zachary Katcher, 21, of East Windsor, was charged with DWI and other offenses at 3:15 a.m., July 18, police said.
Patrolman William Swanhart saw a vehicle traveling north in the southbound lanes of Route 130 near Church Street and pulled it over near Mackey Towing, police said. The driver failed field sobriety tests, police said.
Mr. Katcher was also charged with failure to maintain lane, reckless driving, careless driving, driving the wrong way on one-way, improper use of a divided highway and failure to inspect vehicle, police said. He was arrested, charged and released pending court.
Robert Bauer, 30, of Robbinsville, was charged with DWI at 2:07 a.m., July 17, police said.
Patrolman Thomas Paglione saw a vehicle traveling on Route 130 South with its headlight out, failing to signal lane changes and failing to maintain its lane, police said. The officer pulled the vehicle over near Woodside Road and saw evidence the driver was intoxicated, police said. Mr. Bauer failed field sobriety tests, police said.
Mr. Bauer was also charged with reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane and failure to signal lane changes, police said. He was arrested, charged and released pending court.
Plumsted
Five people who were found on the roof New Egypt Elementary School at 3:30 a.m. on July 22 have been charged with defiant trespass, police said.
Mitchell Haines, 20, of New Egypt; Amy Johnson, 18, of New Egypt; Travis Wear, 19, of New Egypt; and two underage girls were charged with defiant trespass in connection with the incident. Mr. Wear was additionally charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Patrolman Gary Schaal and Cpl. Robert Zack brought all five people to police headquarters for processing. They were released pending a future court date.
Justino Roman, 22, of Howell, was charged with driving under the influence at 4 a.m., July 21, police said.
Patrolman Vincent Doell made the arrest following a traffic stop on Route 539. Mr. Roman was also charged with failing to stop at a traffic signal.
Rachel Geiger, 18, of New Egypt, and an underage boy were charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and drug paraphernalia at 11:15 p.m., July 20, police said.
Patrolman Vincent Doell made the arrests after responding to a call about a suspicious vehicle parked on Tower Road. Both Ms. Geiger and the boy, whose identity was withheld by police because he is a minor, were taken to police headquarters for processing and released pending a future court date.
