MONTGOMERY A car crash on Route 206 near Bridgepoint Road left three people injured and resulted in one arrest just a few hours before sunrise on July 20.
Police said when they arrived at the scene at 3:20 a.m., they found a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2007 Chevy Impala in the middle of Route 206 both with extensive front-end damage.
Police said the driver of the Chevy, Joshua Barmack, 20, of Skillman, suffered a cut to his left wrist and his passenger Omar Haddara, 22, of Skillman, reported having pain in his legs. Mr. Barmack declined treatment, but the Montgomery EMS took Mr. Haddara to the Robert Wood Johnson University hospital.
The driver of the Jeep, Benjamin J. Messenger, 31, of Manville, reported wrist pain and was taken to the Robert Wood Johnson University hospital, according to police.
Police said the crash occurred when Mr. Messenger’s jeep crossed the center of Route 206 and struck Mr. Barmack’s car and that they found marijuana inside Mr. Messenger’s jeep.
Mr. Messenger was subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, failure to maintain a lane, uninsured vehicle, driving while suspended and driving with an expired license.
The crash caused Route 206 to be closed for about an hour.
