Restorative yoga program
According to the center, these relaxation techniques can counteract these harmful states such as stress, fear and anger by triggering physiological changes that allow your body to rest, recover and release; healing itself on many levels.
This practice will use blocks, blankets, bolsters, and straps to fully support the body in postures so that you may breathe fully and deeply. Each pose will be held for 7 to 10 minutes while participants absorb the sound of the ethereal, haunting, and healing 10 Crystal Singing Bowls, 4 Tibetan Bowls, Dragon Bowl and 26 inch Gong.
The center says that through specific practice, “a profound state of relaxation will be achieved offering you the space and time to restore, renew and rejuvenate.”

Remembering Marilyn at the library
The comedy, “The Prince and the Showgirl” will be shown on Aug. 3 at 4 p.m. The 1957 comedy features Monroe as a showgirl who causes an incident when she falls for a European prince, played by Laurence Olivier.
That movie will be followed by a showing of “My Week with Marilyn,” which stars Michelle Williams as Monroe, and is about the making of “The Prince” and the “Showgirl,” based on a book by Colin Clark, an assistant director on the picture.
”The Misfits,” starring Monroe and Clark Gable, will be shown on Aug. 4 at 4 p.m. The 1961 film, written by Arthur Miller, is about a divorced woman (Monroe) who meets and over-the-hill cowboy (Gable). Accompanying him and two other men on a trip to capture and sell some wild mustangs, she is horrified to learn of their plans to sell the horses to a slaughterhouse. The film was the last for both Monroe and Gable.
On Aug. 5, the anniversary of Monroe’s death, the library will host a talk by Paul Sofian, titled “Marilyn Monroe — The Never-Ending Dream,” beginning at 3 p.m. Mr. Sofian will discuss Monroe’s life and movies.
The talk will be followed by the 1959 comedy classic “Some Like It Hot,” in which Monroe starred with Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis. In the film Lemmon and Curtis play musicians who witness a mob hit, and then dress up as women to join an all-female band in order to hide from the mob and the police.
