Mr. Sheehan, 82, of The Villages in Howell, formerly of Freehold, died July 9, 2012, at Applewood Estates Healthcare Center, Freehold Township. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Prior to retiring in 2001, Mr. Sheehan was a supervisor of the Freehold Borough Streets Department for 21 years. Surviving are his wife, Rita Cappelli Sheehan; two sons, Raymond F. Sheehan Jr. and his wife, Polly, of Jackson, and Stephen Sheehan and his wife, Amelia, of Freehold; a daughter, Colleen Gazire and her husband, John, of Howell; a brother-in-law, Vincent Cappelli; and five grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church, Freehold, followed by interment in the parish cemetery in Freehold Township. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905.
