WEST WINDSOR — Saturday’s thunder storm took a toll on West Windsor, leaving the township with fallen trees and wires, power outages, floods and closed roads.
According to the West Windsor Police Department website, around 10 p.m. on Saturday, Washington Road was flooded and various roadways were blocked by trees.
The website stated that Public Works was out around 11 p.m. clearing more than 30 downed trees. Trees were not only down along roadways, but also at various neighborhoods and houses.
According to the police webpage, Old Trenton Road/Edinburg Road and Old Trenton Road/Village Road were both without power around 10 p.m. on Saturday night.
The police also posted a storm report on Sunday morning stating that trees were down on Stuart Lane, Country Squire Lane and at 15 Haverford. Wires and trees were also down on Galston Drive and Princeton Place, but the roadways were passable.
South Lane and Oaks Lane were closed due to fallen trees and wires, according to the report.
Storm damages were still being addressed on Sunday evening, as the police department posted that there was a tree and transformer down and a transformer on fire at the front of 141 South Mill Road. The road was also closed.
PSE&G and JCP&L were both out making repairs over the weekend according to the police department.
According to Lt. William Bastedo, more than 100 calls were placed on Saturday after the storm hit.  He said there were 6 reports of damaged vehicles and some reports of driveways and sidewalk damages.
Mr. Bastedo said there were about 100 down trees in town.  He said all trees have been cleared from roadways, but there are still down trees on side roads.
According to Mr. Bastedo, Police and Public Works responded immediately after the storm hit to try and move trees and remedy damages.  He said it will take Public Works a few days to clear all trees from side roads.
