HILLSBOROUGH: Learn to download music, books

   Two sessions will show patrons how download music and books from the online catalogue at the library, 379 South Branch Road.
   On Saturday, Aug. 11, you can learn about free music downloadables to your iTunes, MP3 player or Smartphone. Stop by from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
   Bring in your Kindle Fire, iPad, SmartPhone or wireless tablet device Wednesday, Aug. 15, at 7 p.m. and learn how to download free content from the library’s website.
   Upcoming programs intended for adults. Registration is required:
   • Journal Keeping — Kim Leatherdale, a registered art therapist and journal writer, will help you create a journal as a guide to what you are grateful for, or set and keep goals. Saturday, Aug. 11, 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
   • Dog behavior and training — Learn how dogs think and why they behave the way they do. Trainer Iris Fryzel and her retired service dog, Mindy, will demonstrate commands and training basics. Monday, Aug. 13, at 7 p.m.
   • Book discussion — Friends of the Library will talk about “This Beautiful Life” by Helen Schulman. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 7:30 p.m.
   • Friday night movie — Salmon Fishing in the Yemen,” starring Ewan McGregor and Emily Blunt, will be shown Aug. 17 at 7 p.m.
   Here are programs for youngsters. Registration is required.
   • Collagraph making (entering grades K-5) — Students will create images using a collagraph process in which an assortment of materials are applied to a surface and printed. ’3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 2.
   • Dragons & Dreams (ages 5 through adults) — Scienceteller teaches about the science of fire and ice using experiments of flash paper, exploding bottles and dry ice. Thursday, Aug. 2, at 7 p.m.
   • Music to Move By (ages 2-6) — An interactive musical experience for child and parent. Monday, Aug. 6, at 10 a.m.
   • Glow-in-the-dark craft program (entering grades 6-12) — The library will provide craft supplies and you supply the creativity. Monday, Aug. 6, at 5 p.m.
   • Rhyme Time (ages newborn to 24 months) — 20 minutes of nursery rhyme fun. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 10:30 a.m.
   • Summer movie (ages 7 and older)— “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole,” based on the children’s book. Tuesday, Aug. 7, at 3 p.m.
   • Silly Sleepy Sing Along (ages four through and adult) — Giggle, dance and clap hands to silly and sleepy songs. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 7 p.m.
   • Story and Craft (ages 2-6) — Listen to a story and create a paper bag owl to take home. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 10 and 11 a.m.
   • Lego Buddies (grades 8 to 12) — Reliable teen volunteers are needed to help during Lego Club programs. Wed., Aug. 8, at 2:30 p.m.
   • Lego Club (entering grades 1-5) — Hang out with other Lego maniacs. Wednesday, Aug. 8, at 3 p.m.
   • Summer storytime (ages 2-6) —”Counting Sheep” on Thursday, Aug. 9, at 10 a.m.
   • Cosmic Space — Mad Science of West Jersey leads a voyage to discover space and take a look at planets, moons, comets, and the stars. Thursday, Aug. 9, at 3 p.m. for grades K-2, and at 4 p.m. for grades 3-5.
   • Kindermusik (newborn to 3 years) — Children develop language, literacy, social and listening skills. Monday, Aug. 13, at 10 a.m.
   • Rhyme Time (newborn to 24 months) — Twenty minutes of nursery rhymes. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 10:30 a.m.
   • Story and craft (ages 2-6) — Listen to a story on nighttime mobiles catchers and create a craft to take home. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at 10 and 11 a.m.
   • Early Reader Book Club (entering grades K-2) — Read “Minnie and Moo Go To The Moon” by Denys Cazet, do some activities and make a craft. Copies will be available at the Children’s Desk. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 3 p.m.
   • Summer storytime (ages 2-6) — A Superhero Party program will be held Wednesday, Aug. 15, at 3 p.m.
   • Pajamas and Popcorn (ages 3-10) — Jeanne DePodwin presents a songfest and children play rhythm instruments from world countries. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at 7 p.m.
   • Family scavenger hunt (entering kindergarten and older) — Kids and adults work as a team to find hidden treasures in the library. Sorry, no children in strollers or younger allowed. Wednesday, Aug. 15, at 7 p.m.
   • Youth Stages presents (ages 3-5) — ’—We’ll become ducks, lions, birds, bears and turtles as we discuss our fears and act out “Franklin in the Dark.” Thursday, Aug. 16, at 10 a.m.
   • Movie (ages 7 and older) — Best-seller “Spiderwick Chronicles” comes to the screen as a fantasy adventure about a family that moves into a secluded house on Spiderwick estate. Thursday, Aug. 16, at 3 p.m.
   • Ghosts (entering grades 6-12) — Gordon Ward shares his experiences and evidence of specters and haunted locations, his views on ghosts, and teaches you how to conduct your own investigations without costly equipment. Thursday, Aug. 16, at 7 p.m.
