An 86-year-old Ivy Glen Lane man has been charged with criminal sexual contact after he allegedly touched a store saleswoman in an inappropriate manner last week, according to the Lawrence Township Police Department.
Charles W. Deaton was charged after the incident, which occurred at 12:02 p.m. on July 23 at Macy’s department store at the Quaker Bridge Mall. He went into the men’s department to look for clothing.
Mr. Deaton allegedly asked a store saleswoman to let him hold onto her arm because he was unsteady on his feet, and allowed his hand to brush against her body.
After she completed the sale of some clothing to him, he asked if he could give her a hug. She refused, but he walked around to the cash register and touched her again in an inappropriate way. He then left the store, police said.
The victim notified police, who located Mr. Deaton in another store at the mall. He was released after posting 10 percent of his $15,000 bail, police said.
