   Circus: Cole Bros. Circus of the Stars. Shows at 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. at Gerber Field on Duke’s Parkway East. Hosted by Manville Fire Company No. 1. Advance tickets on sale through Aug. 1 at Frank’s Pizza, 140 North Main St. and Jim’s Soft Pretzels, 115 South Main St. Day of event prices are $21 for adults, $16 for children. $5 discount for advance sale tickets. For reserved seat, add $4; for VIP seat, add $7.
Sat., Aug. 4
   Car show: Seventh annual event by the Full Throttle Car Club benefits the Manville High School Marching Band from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Manville High School, 1100 Brooks Blvd. Rain date is Aug. 5.
   Food will be available for purchase. Trophies will be presented in several categories. Cars will be displayed in the field adjacent to the sports complex.
   Admission to view the cars is free. The cost to display a car is $20; if you can drive it, you can bring it. Advance registration is $15.

   Library meeting: The Manville Public Library Advisory Board will hold its first meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the library, 100 South 10th Ave.

   Farmers’ market: Fresh fruit and vegetables for sale, rain or shine, from 1 to 6 p.m. on the Main Street sidewalks between Rosalie and North Orchard streets on Fridays through Sept. 28.
   Blood pressure checks: Second Thursday of the month, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., VFW.
   Public library book sale: Buy donated and surplus books to support the library. Nonsale hardcover books are 50 cents; soft-cover 25 cents each or by the bag for $2.
