The Board of Education approved changes in supervising personnel during Monday night’s meeting.
Jennifer Diszler was appointed Director of Professional Development for the district, replacing Bonnie Capes, who was named Principal at Cambridge School in Kendall Park.
Denise Touhey was named as Principal of the Dayton-Deans Elementary School. Ms. Touhey has previously taught in the South Brunswick school district and is now returning in a supervisory capacity.
Peter Rattien, a teacher at Monmouth Junction Elementary School has been promoted to Assistant Principal for the Cambridge and Constable Schools. Mr. Rattien recently coordinated the Technology Exhibit at Monmouth Junction.
Emanual Caravano was named Assistant Principal at the Brooks Crossing and Indian Fields Schools. Mr. Caravano comes to the district after being employed in the Hillsborough School District.
Aparna Rajagopal has been named as an Assistant Principal at South Brunswick High School. She will be filling the vacancy created by the promotion of Peter Varela to Interim Principal at the school.
The district also announced that John Ketterer, Music Supervisor for the district, has submitted his resignation with the intent to retire. Mr. Ketterer has spent 32 years in the district.
Superintendent Gary McCartney described Mr. Ketterer’s music program as “the envy of all competing school districts.”
