The Somerset County Library System (SCLS) is now pleased to offer its patrons a museum pass program that allows borrowers free entry at a number of New Jersey and New York venues. Additional benefits, depending upon the museum program, may include discounts at museum cafes, book and gift stores.
SCLS library card holders may borrow passes to one venue at a time, for a period of four days. New York City museums included in the program are: the Children’s Museum of Manhattan, The Frick Collection, the Guggenheim, and the Intrepid Air, Sea and Space Museum. The Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton and the Stickley Museum at Craftsman Farms in Morris Plain are the New Jersey venues. Additional museums may also be visited using the passes through some of the organizations’ reciprocal programs. The number of free entries depends upon the guidelines of each museum.
“Through this museum pass program, we are offering another benefit to SCLS patrons, allowing them to experience art and historical objects at a reduced cost. It is one more avenue that SCLS is able to support in providing educational and learning opportunities to our patrons,” commented Brian Auger, director of SCLS. “It’s one more ways SCLS partners with our patrons to connect, to explore, to share and to discover.”
Patrons can view the benefits of each specific museum pass, along with available borrowing periods through the Museum Pass reservations at the library’s website – www.sclsnj.org. The module can be found under the Museum Pass pull down menu on the home page. Passes may be borrowed from any SCLS branch; however, patrons will need to pick up and return the passes at that same branch.
Patrons with further questions can call SCLS at (908)526-4016 or visit the website at http://www.sclsnj.org. The Somerset County Library System has branches in Bridgewater, Bound Brook, Hillsborough, Manville, at the Mary Jacobs Library in Rocky Hill, North Plainfield, Peapack & Gladstone, Somerville, Warren Township and Watchung.
