School of Rock Princeton’s Z Team band, which is comprised of some of the school’s top young student musicians, will perform at the Chili Cooks Against Cancer Festival on Saturday, August 25.
The Z Team band members, who range in age from 8 to 17, will perform a diverse repertoire of energetic crowd pleasers by such bands as Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Bow Wow Wow, The Doors, The Who, Michael Jackson, The Rolling Stones, and many more.
“Chili Cooks Against Cancer will be a fantastic fundraiser for the American Cancer Fund,” says Michael Vlaanderen, general manager of School of Rock Princeton. “It’s sanctioned by the International Chili Society, which is one of the largest food festival organizations in the world, so you know that the delicacies being served will be the real deal. We’re thrilled to be able to enhance the spicy chow with our tasty servings of hot rock n’ roll.”
Along with the Z Team’s performance, there will also be a variety of activities at the Festival, including a 5K run, a petting zoo, pony rides and inflatables for kids, vendors, a car show and more. There will also be a contest for chili cooks with cash prizes in a variety of recipe categories, such red chili, verde (green) chili and salsa.
“Whether you’re a chili chef, a chili lover, a fan of awesome rock n’ roll, or all three, Chili Cooks Against Cancer will deliver a great afternoon for families and raise money for a wonderful cause,” says Vlaanderen.
Chili Cooks Against Cancer will be held on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Mercer County Park in West Windsor from 11am to 6pm. General admission is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors, and $3 for kids, and includes a free chili tasting kit. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Fund.
