BORDENTOWN TOWNSHIP: Jersey Bandits players deliver

Bordentown’s Jersey Bandits 10U and 8U fast pitch softball teams ended their seasons with championships at the fifth annual Sid Lee Viking Classic in South Brunswick.
The tournament took place from July 28 to July 29 with 15 10U and 8 8U teams competing.
The Jersey Bandits 10U won 9-2 over Monroe Thunder; 9-3 over South Plainfield Tigers; 9-0 over Abington Angels; 12-0 over Hamilton Hurricanes; and 2-1 over North Burlington Bolts in the championship game.
Jersey Bandits 8U team outscored opponents 85-17, going 6-0 and winning the championship over the Hamilton Hurricanes.
Earlier in July, 11 girls of the Jersey Bandits 10U team traveled to Delaware to compete in the Pony Nationals tournament.
After the 10U team’s last game in Delaware, Coach Dan Marino said, “You proved today that the Bandits don’t give up.”
That same spirit brought victory for both the 10U and 8U teams last weekend.
   Congratulations Bandits!
