Brush & Chisel

By Ron Bevilacqua
PRESS RELEASE
The Stover Mill Gallery ushers in the fall season with “Brush and Chisel”, a show featuring the works of Bucks County artists Christine McHugh and Ron Bevilacqua.
Continuing the tradition of supporting local fine artists for the past 53 years, the upcoming show highlights the collection of original paintings and sculptures by two members of the First Sunday Salon.
This is the second show together for McHugh and Bevilacqua, and is an opportunity to view their newest pieces created over the past two years.
Christine’s traditional oils are inspired by the impressionist heritage of Bucks County, focusing on the scenic views of today’s landscapes in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Cape Cod. Concentrating on the play of light and shadow, her paintings transform everyday views into modern day works of art. Her works are held in many collections, locally, nationally, and as far as Europe and Australia.
Ron’s sculpture has been receiving numerous awards in several regional art venues, and continues to garner new enthusiasts. Having worked as a sculptor for over 30 years he has developed his unique ability to see hidden forms within wood and stone, and transports viewers to a magical world of surprising images. Many of the pieces included in this show will be exhibited for the first time.
“Brush and Chisel” will run Saturday’s and Sunday’s from 1-5pm, September 1-23. (Friday hours by appointment) Opening reception will be held on Sunday Sept 9th from 1-5pm, with a second meet the artist date of September 15th. Please join us in support of local artists and the historic Stover Mill.
Stover Mill is located at 852 River Road (Route 32), Erwinna, PA.
