NEW BRUNSWICK – Two Middlesex County leaders – one from ‘Hub City’ and the other from ‘City by the Bay’ – will be honored at the Diocese of Metuchen’s 28th Annual Flame of Charity Dinner to be held Thursday, Oct. 25 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.
          Christopher J. Paladino, president of New Brunswick Development Corp. (DEVCO) and parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Parish in Skillman, will receive the Humanitarian of the Year Award and Rev. Msgr. John B. Gordon, pastor of the newly established Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Perth Amboy, will receive the Community Servant Award.
Proceeds from the Flame of Charity Dinner support the work of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Metuchen. In 2011, the funds raised helped Catholic Charities provide114 programs at 22 sites where more than 50,000 people within the four counties of the diocese were served regardless of race, religion or ethnicity.
