WEST WINDSOR A West Windsor man and his dog were both hospitalized after getting hit by a car on Clarksville Road Saturday evening.
Arnold Chen, 53, and his dog were standing on the northwest corner of Clarksville Road and North Post Road when they were struck by Ajanta Baral, 57, of West Windsor, in a 2000 Mercedes Benz, according to police.
Police said Ms. Baral was traveling west on North Post Road and exited the northwest corner of the intersection when she impacted Mr. Chen, his dog and then a utility pole.
As a result of the impact, Mr. Chen suffered a severe injury to his lower leg and the dog suffered injuries to two legs, according to police.
Officials did not include details on Ms. Baral’s condition in a press release.
Both Mr. Chen and Ms. Baral were taken to the Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment and the dog was taken to the North Star Veterinary hospital for treatment.
Police closed down portions of the road for about two hours while conducting a collision investigation and roadway cleanup.
The accident is still under investigation by the West Windsor police and the Mercer County Prosecutors Office.
