On Monday, August 6, 2012 Congressman Rush Holt (D-12th District) visited Eden Autism Services new Education and Outreach Center located in the Princeton Forrestal Village, Princeton, NJ. The congressman toured the school and addressed a group of students, staff and families. This is the Congressman’s first visit to Eden’s new facility, he had visited Eden’s former site several years ago.
“I am delighted to be back at Eden in its spacious, beautiful, bright new quarters.” said Holt. He continued to commend the staff on the exceptional services they provide to individuals with autism.
Holt has been a great friend to Eden and a tremendous supporter of the autism and special education community. In 2001,
Holt facilitated collaboration between Eden and the US Office of Education for use of a $255,000 grant to update the Eden Curriculum and make the Curriculum available to public and private schools across the nation. During this process Eden was able to enhance its staff training services through development of a multimedia training kit. This past year, Eden took the Eden Curriculum to the next level by establishing an online version, The Eden Curriculum powered by ABPathfinder.
Legislators such as Holt help keep autism and special education on the forefront and in turn help programs like Eden continue to accomplish its mission of improving the lives of individuals with autism.
