helps cheerleaders
Monday, Aug. 13 Eat at IHOP on Route 206 in Hillsborough from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and support the Hillsborough Dukes Mitey Mite cheerleaders (2nd- and 3rd-graders.) IHOP will give the team 20 percent of profits earned in the 12-hour period. Money will help fund trip for cheerleaders to exhibit their routine at Walt Disney World in December. You must mention the Dukes cheerleaders fundraiser to waiter or cashier.

its annual carnival
Aug. 14-19 Annual Rotary Club fair in the Lowe’s parking lot in the Hillsborough Promenade. Rides, games, food. 6-10 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, and 2-8 p.m. Sunday.
Bollywood dance

Arts school to offer
‘Little Women’ show
Aug. 17-19 “Little Women, The Broadway Musical,” will be performed at the Allegra School of Performing Arts in Hillsborough. The director is Nicky Singer, a theater student at Rider University and a local playwright.
Shows are Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. with an understudy performance Saturday at 1 p.m. all at the Somerset Valley Playhouse, Amwell Road.

hosts blood drive

Sunday, Sept. 9 Hillsborough High School Marching Band and Color Guard students will wash cars as a fundraiser from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Hillsborough Elementary School, Amwell Road at Route 206. Cost is $5 per car or $7 per van. 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Gym sponsors fair
before anniversary
Saturday, Sept. 29 Powerhouse Gym on Raider Boulevard will host a fall festival as the gym celebrates its third year anniversary in October. The rain date is Oct. 6. Proceeds from health fair and basket auction will be donated to Somerset Medical Center. Exercise classes for adults and children will be held, as well as face painting and other activities.
Charity run seeks
walkers, runners
Sunday, Sept. 30 Steps Together is a united team that will participate in the Steeplechase Distance Run in Hillsborough on Sept. 30. For a $25 donation, participants receive guided training via email and invites to attend local training sessions. Eight beneficiaries are participating in the program five families and three nonprofits. Participants select who they’d like to participate on behalf of.

Alzheimer’s support group The Alzheimer’s Association has a support group in Hillsborough. Family members and caregivers come together to share information and support in a safe, confidential atmosphere.
