HILLSBOROUGH: Purple Heart memorial dedicated at municipal building

   Members of the Military Order of the Purple Heart t dedicated Tuesday evening their new memorial in the Garden of Honor at the Hillsborough Municipal Complex.Congressman Leonard Lance was a featured speaker.
   The dedication marked the anniversary of the first time the Badge of Military Merit was awarded by George Washington in 1782.
   The Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 27, located in Somerville, decided to give the plaque to Hillsborough because the town is "veteran friendly," said member Ted Dima.
   The Purple Heart has been awarded since 1932 to military members who have been wounded or killed while serving in combat.
