St. Stephen’s second annual Car & Bike Show with a Chili Cook Off will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, at 31 W. Second St., Florence. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. and showtime is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at 1:30 p.m.
Anyone interested in entering the Chili Cook Off is asked to contact Jerry Sandusky at (609) 499-1558 as soon as possible. The slots are going quickly so don’t delay.
The car show is open to all makes. Participants will receive food coupons. There will be great food and entertainment, and just plain fun.
The Florence Garden Club will have homemade cakes for sale, also available by the piece to enjoy with a cup of coffee.

The Florence Township Volunteer Fire Co. will hold a Hoagie/Meatball Sandwich Sale on Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to sell out at the firehouse, 401 Firehouse Lane, Florence. Hoagies available will be American, Italian and tuna. Price is $7 per sandwich and includes a beverage and a bag of chips. The Florence High School Class of ‘65 is turning 65. A birthday celebration in our honor will be held at the Burlington Country Club on Saturday, Oct. 13. Invitations have been sent out but we are still looking for addresses of some of our classmates. The Florence High School Class of 1982 will have its 30th class reunion on Nov. 23 from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Stone Terrace, 2275 Kuser Road, Hamilton. Good Neighbors Senior Citizens of Florence will sponsor a trip to Doolan’s Radio City Holiday Tribute in Spring Lake on Dec. 4. Come out and get into the holiday spirit and enjoy the Christmas show with all the songs you remember. You won’t regret going. You will see the matinee, have a full-course luncheon with a one-hour open bar. Food Pantry at Florence Uinted Methodist Church at Second and Broad streets in Florence is open on Fridays from 11 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. Thank you to all who have donated food to our food pantry. We always need more food. You may call (609) 499-3807 if you need to make any drop off of food. We wish to thank all who responded to our call for food. You all came through.
There is also a food pantry located at Holy Assumption Church in Roebling across from the Roebling Town Market.
We are still taking registrations for Floreence Pre-School. We have two-day classes for 2-year-old children on Thursday and Friday, three-day classes Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday for 3 year olds and also two-day classes, Thursday and Friday, for 3 year olds.
