POLICE BLOTTER: Aug. 10

Hightstown
   Police said they received a report on Aug. 2 at 3:20 p.m. that an unknown person entered an unlocked car on Monmouth Street and took a wallet with $40 in it, multiple credit cards and various forms of identification.

   According to police, Angel Vellon, 20, of Westerlea Arms was charged with contempt of court on Aug. 2 at 6:12 p.m. for failing to appear in court. Mr. Vellon was released upon posting bail and pending court action.

   Police said they charged a man with contempt of court and disorderly conduct on Aug. 4 at 1:56 a.m. Officers on patrol observed Angel Calle-Suqui, 33, of Philadelphia, allegedly urinating in the Krauszer’s parking lot. He was later released upon posting bail and is pending court action.

   Police said they charged Craig Boone, 36, of Plainfield with contempt of court on Aug. 4 at 10:52 p.m. after stopping him on Mercer Street for having a cracked windshield. A credential check revealed that Mr. Boone was a wanted person by Newark Police Department. He was released to Newark officers.

   Police said they charged a man with driving while intoxicated on Aug 5. At 2:12 a.m. on Summit Street. Andrew Lashomb, 31, of East Windsor was pulled over for crossing the double yellow line when an officer noticed the smell of alcohol coming from his car. He was also charged with driving while intoxicated in a school zone, reckless driving, open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle, failure to maintain lane and failure to signal. Mr. Lashomb was later released to a friend with pending court action.

   An anonymous caller said their blue 10-speed bike valued at $110 was taken from the Deerfield Apartments between noon on Sunday and 7:30 a.m. Monday morning.

   Police said they charged David Prewitt, 20, of Trenton with contempt of court on Tuesday at 11 a.m. after a random license plate check revealed a warrant from Ewing Township. Mr. Prewitt was taken into custody and was later released upon posting bail with pending court action.

   According to police, Darnell Moore, 38, of East Windsor was charged with contempt of court on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. after a warrant check reveled he had three active warrants for his arrest. Mr. Moore was arrested on a warrant issued by Hightstown Municipal Court in the amount of $1,208 and two warrants issued by East Windsor Township Municipal Court in the amounts of $776 and $1,176. He was released to the East Windsor Township Police Department in lieu of bail.
East Windsor
   Police said they charged a 29-year-old woman with driving while intoxicated on July 28 at 2:19 a.m. on Route 571. Megan Huston, of Beechcroft Drive, was seen swerving and then stopped on Windsor Center Drive, according to police. Ms. Huston was also charged with reckless driving, careless driving, failure to maintain lane and having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle. She was released pending court action.

   A 32-year-old man was charged with burglary on Aug. 2 at 1:23 a.m. after police said she may have robbed Crock-A-Deli on Old Cranbury Road. Police said the door to the store was shattered and lottery tickets and cigarettes were stolen. Kareen Gary of Elizabeth was also charged with theft and criminal mischief. He was released after posting $10,000 bail.

   According to police, an 18-year-old Winchester Drive resident was charged with driving while intoxicated after being pulled over on Lanning Boulevard. Gavin Wong was charged on Aug. 2 at 3:19 a.m. after he was pulled over for driving on the wrong side of the road. He was also charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, reckless driving and careless driving.

   Andrew Snow, 29, of Hightstown was charged with theft on Aug. 4 at 1:43 p.m. after he allegedly attempted to steal clothing from Wal-Mart, police said.

   Police said they responded to a burglary alarm at Urban Communications on Monday on Route 130 South. Police said the front door of the establishment was broken and that someone had entered the store and then fled the area; however, nothing had been removed.
