MONROE — Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at Monroe Jewelers in the Concordia Shopping Center on Aug. 6.
A male suspect walked out of the jewelry store with more than $3,000 worth of jewelry. When the store manager attempted to stop the man from leaving the store with the jewelry, the suspect pushed the manager aside and fled the scene on foot, according to police.
The suspect, described as a black male, between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 9 inches tall, 20-24 years old, with short black hair, brown eyes, clean shaven and a stocky build, wore tan cargo shorts and a blue or black polo shirt with white stripes throughout.
The suspect was last seen running into the wooded area on Perrineville Road across from the BP gas station.
