James Gibbons Jr. of Hillsborough graduated magna cum laude from the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, with a double major in political science and history.
He has accepted a job offer at Lawyer.com in Basking Ridge,where he’ll be a member representative.
This spring semester he was a production assistant for WKBW-TV, the ABC affiliate in Buffalo,N.Y., working on the morning show, “AM Buffalo.” He has plans to attend law school.
In the summer of 2011, he served in a 10-week internship working in the Public Affairs Department at the United States Embassy in Ottawa, Canada.
In addition to his intern duties, James developed a podcast series, interviewing several local Canadians who took part in the International Visitors Leadership Program about their ex´
periences visiting America. The podcast series is available on the embassy website (under “Inside the Embassy” under U.S.-Canada alumni).
In the summer of 2010, James spent time as an intern working in the New Brunswick office of Congressman Frank Pallone.
He graduated from Hillsborough High School in 2008.
Five Hillsborough residents were among the more than 5,000 students who received degrees from Drexel University at its 125th commencement June 15-16 in Philadelphia.

Mary Bednar graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences with a bachelor of science.
Laura DiSanto graduated from the College of Media Arts & Design with a bachelor of science.
Evan Samlin graduated with a bachelor of science in business administration.
Mai Yang graduated from the Bennett S. LeBow College of Business with a master of science.
Alexander Yeganeh graduated with a bachelor of science in civil engineering.
Twelve Hillsborough residents were among 1,726 students who participated in commencement ceremony at The College of New Jersey on Friday, May 11, in Lions Stadium on the Ewing Township campus.
Four earned master’s degrees in education. They are ýPage=005 Column=001 OK,0010.07þ
Kelly Boyle (reading, K-12), Valerie Muldoon (instruction), Nicole Murphy (special education and other certification), Christine Murphy (teaching ESL).
Two received master of arts degrees in teaching: Nicole Campbell (elementary education) and Jenna Mallozzi (special education) .
Six earned bachelor of arts degrees. They are Lisa Czernikowski (art education, magna cum laude), Angela Chen (psychology, magna cum laude), Eman Hassan (English, magna cum laude), Kelsey Kutch (history, secondary education), Erin Suozzo (mathematics, secondary education) and Matthew Ziminski (mathematics).
Receiving bachelor of science degrees were Heather Hollman (nursing), Eric New (mathematics, summa cum laude), Ian Burton (civil engineering) and Christian Rathbun (biology, secondary education).
