A Puritan Avenue resident reported the theft of two generators and a 100-foot extension cord, valued at a combined $1,375, from his Chevrolet box truck while it was parked at his home between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. Aug. 12. The thief cut off the lock on the rear liftgate.
Someone stole a 2006 Mercury Grand Marquis sedan belonging to a Garry Court resident while it was parked in its owner’s driveway between 11:45 p.m. Aug. 8 and 8 a.m. Aug. 9. The car was unlocked and the keys had been left in the ignition. The car was valued at $5,000.
The owners of a 1992 Lexus sedan and a 2006 Nissan Xterra sport utility vehicle discovered their cars, which were parked outside their Ohio Avenue home, had been entered at 4:58 a.m. Aug. 8, but nothing was reported missing. The Lexus was locked but the sunroof was partially open, while the Nissan was left unlocked.
A Pilgrim Avenue resident reported that her car had been entered around the same time and four bottles of wine, valued at a combined $56, were stolen. The owner said the car was locked, but the rear window was partially lowered and the bottles of wine were on the back seat.
Justin D. Scott, 18, of Alcazar Avenue, was charged with driving under the influence/underage, reckless driving and obstructing traffic at 11:44 p.m. Aug. 8 during a motor vehicle stop.
Someone entered an unlocked 2008 Honda Accord belonging to a Gedney Road resident between 2 a.m. and 2:58 a.m. Aug. 5,but nothing was reported missing.
A $20 bill was the only item reported missing from an unlocked 2007 Saab belonging to a Gainsboro Road resident, who reported that his car had been entered around the same time.
A thief took $50 in change from a 2002 Toyota pickup truck, a 1996 Honda Accord and a 2007 Honda Accord while they were parked outside an Eggerts Crossing Road residence between 12:30 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. Aug. 4. A wallet containing personal papers also was stolen from one of the vehicles.
