Manalapan resident reports theft of gun from home

MANALAPAN — Police are investigating the theft of a gun and ammunition from a home on Warwick Drive. Police said there were no signs of forced entry to the home. The theft may have occurred between July 29 and Aug. 3.

According to information provided by the Manalapan Police Department, on Aug. 3 at 9:33 a.m., a resident reported a burglary to his Warwick Drive residence and the theft of a Glock 19 9-mm pistol, four boxes of ammunition, a passport and $200 in cash. The total value of the items that were taken from the home was $850.

Police said the residence was not ransacked and the items that were reported missing appeared to have been specifically targeted.

In other police news:

On Aug. 1 at 7:10 p.m., Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis responded to the Babies R Us parking lot, Route 9, for a report of a wallet being stolen. A resident of Howell told the officer that an unknown person removed her Coach wristlet wallet from her shopping cart. The wallet is valued at $70 and contained credit cards. Police said the incident occurred at about 6:15 p.m. in the parking lot.

On July 31, a car burglary and theft was reported to police by a resident of Debracy Court. According to police, at 5:49 a.m. July 29, two vehicles parked in a driveway were burglarized by a younger white male who was wearing white khaki pants and a dark polo shirt.

Police said the unknown individual was walking from residence to residence checking for unlocked vehicles. In the Debracy

Court incident the thief removed sunglasses and an iPad from an unlocked vehicle.

On July 30 at 2:15 p.m., Patrolman Joseph DeFilippis responded to Wood Avenue for a report of theft. Representatives of Excel Contractors, Cinnaminson, reported that various types of wood material were removed from the construction site by unknown individuals. The total value of the stolen materials was reported to be $1,316.84. This incident occurred between July 28 and July 30.
