Whatever the weather you can count on meeting Channel 7’s weatherman/author Bill Evans at the South Brunswick Public Library Foundation’s Book & Author Dinner on Oct. 4 at Pierre’s Restaurant.
The SBPL Foundation is fortunate this year to host eco-thriller author Bill Evans, a multiple Emmy award-winning, nationally renowned senior meteorologist, who has been with WABC-TV in New York since 1989.
This year he has released his fourth and fifth books: Blackmail Earth, a gripping tale of environmental terror, self-preservation and worldwide pollution (it has garnered 4-Star reviews on Amazon and goodreads book sites); in addition to the fun and educational book for middle school students, It’s Raining Fish and Spiders.
A big personality with many talents, Mr. Evans has broadcast throughout the tri-state area, Florida, and the Caribbean.
He has reported the weather while: playing basketball with Patrick Ewing; skating with Olympic Gold Medallist Kristi Yamaguchi; playing golf with Tiger Woods; swimming with dolphins, sharks, and whales; sky diving; race car driving, bungee jumping, and even while water skiing on the Hudson and East Rivers.
He is seen regularly on Eyewitness News in the Morning and Eyewitness News at noon and has appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America, ESPN Sports Center, How Stuff Works on the Discovery Channel, and Live with Regis and Kelly, among others.
Mr. Evans can also be heard nationally on the ABC Radio Network, Martha Stewart Living Radio, ESPN Radio, and in the New York metropolitan area on WPLJ.
Using his weather expertise along with a good imagination, Mr. Evans added “author” to his list of accomplishments in 2007 with Category 7: The Biggest Storm in History, his first book of fiction, which was co-written by Marianna Jameson. After the success of Category 7,
The pair went on to co-write two more novels together: Frozen Fire (a sequel to Category 7); and Dry Ice.
Not surprising, Mr. Evans uses weather to keep his readers on edge with extreme and catastrophic conditions created by man and science.
Tickets are $65 per person. You can buy tickets online at http://www.sbpl.info/foundation/tickets or at the Checkout Desk in the Library, 110 Kingston Lane, Monmouth Junction.
