The public is invited to join the YWCA Princeton in welcoming Princeton resident Bonnie St. John at the annual Friends Luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 13 at 11:30 a.m.

Despite having her right leg amputated at age 5, Ms. St. John received silver and bronze medals in the 1984 Paralympics in Innsbruck, Austria. The first African-American ever to win Olympic or Paralympic medals in ski racing, she served in 2008 as a Paralympic Ambassador to train US athletes going to Beijing to be positive representatives of the United States. Representing the USA in 2010, Ms. St. John was a member of President Obama’s official delegation to the Paralympic Winter Games in Vancouver.
Hailed as “one of the five most inspiring women in America,” by NBC Nightly News, Ms. St. John is a sought after keynote speaker and television personality. She has been featured in local, national, and international media, including: the New York Times, the Today Show, and CNN.
The author of six books, Ms. St. John will be speaking on her No. 1 best-seller, “How Great Women Lead.” Traveling the world, Ms. St. John and daughter Darcy explored the lives of key leaders including Hillary Clinton, Condoleeza Rice, and president of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf. Book sale and signing of “How Great Women Lead” will follow the lunch.
