With summer soon drawing to a close, the time when children will be returning to school is close at hand. For many needy families in our area, the current economy has affected their finances and created additional financial burden. While some are struggling just to make ends meet, others will not be able to provide their children with even the most basic back-to-school supplies. Kids often disconnect when they don’t have the adequate tools to supplement their learning and promote achievement. When it comes to getting ready for school, teachers say something as small as a pencil or pen can make all the difference.
But in this time of great need, Peapack-Gladstone Bank has responded. In conjunction with the United Way of Hunterdon County Tools 4 School program, from July 24 to August 15 Peapack-Gladstone Bank accepted donations of basic school supplies at its Califon, Clinton, Oldwick and Whitehouse branches. In turn, these supplies will be distributed to children residing within Hunterdon County providing them with the necessary tools to begin the school year ready to learn.
Through the unprecedented support of Peapack-Gladstone Bank customers and employees, donations of pencils, paper, backpacks, notebooks and the like have been presented to the Hunterdon County United Way. These donations will be distributed to approximately 1,500 children who are most in need, improving lives by enabling them to begin the school year equipped to succeed.
Peapack-Gladstone Bank thanks all its donors for their compassion and generosity in giving kids the “write stuff” and supporting the United Way of Hunterdon County Tools 4 School drive at their Hunterdon County Branches. Because of your generosity, local needy children can return to school with confidence and start the new school year on a positive note.
