Walkers of all ages are invited to take steps toward empowering disadvantaged women at Dress for Success Morris County’s second annual 5K Power Walk, Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Giralda Farms in Madison. On-site registration begins at 8:30 am, with the walk getting underway at 9 am, rain or shine.
The Dress for Success Morris County Power Walk hopes to promote the organization’s Health and Wellness Initiative for its Professional Women’s Group (PWG), while at the same time raise funds and visibility for the many services Dress for Success Morris County provides. The public is encouraged to join Dress for Success Morris County’s corporate and community partners, volunteers, donors, PWG members, and clients in supporting the organization and spreading its message of the importance of healthy lifestyle choices for women in work and life.
“We are thrilled to host our second annual 5K Power Walk to benefit Dress for Success Morris County,” says Stefanie Conley, the organization’s Executive Director. “We are passionate about health and excited to share in a great day of fun and exercise with our friends and community.”
For those who wish to register in advance of the event, online registration is available at www.dressforsuccess.org/morriscounty (click on the “Power Walk” logo under “Important Announcements”). Participants have the option of registering solo or as a team. Once registered, walkers can customize their own donor page, send links to family and friends for sponsorship, and monitor their donations. Registration may also be done at Giralda Farms on the day of the event. A limited number of free t-shirts will be distributed at the walk.
