Police blotter news from Robbinsville and Allentown

Allentown

   Robert Barone, 22, of Allentown, was arrested on a warrant out of Hamilton Township in the amount of $20,000 and turned over to Hamilton police on Aug. 27.


   Christopher C. Charles, 32, of Manchester, was charged with driving while suspended at 4:30 p.m., Aug. 17 after a motor vehicle stop on Church Street by Patrolman Thomas Malatesta.
   Mr. Charles was released pending a court date.


   Leighann Pellini, 36, of Yardville, was charged with driving while intoxicated at 7:34 p.m., Aug. 19, police said.
   Patrolman Thomas Malatesta located Ms. Pellini’s vehicle driving erratically on South Main Street after an anonymous caller reported a possible drunken driver, police said. Ms. Pellini was arrested, processed and released to a friend pending a future court date.


Robbinsville

   Shannon Heisler, 31, of Trenton, and Christine Johnson, 30, of Willingboro, were charged with possession of marijuana and other offenses after a motor vehicle stop at 11:16 p.m., Aug. 14 on Route 130 South, police said.
   Patrolman Adrian Markowski conducted a random license plate inquiry on a vehicle and learned the owner had a suspended license. The officer pulled the vehicle over south of the Oakwood Motel and, after speaking to the occupants, determined there was evidence of narcotics in the vehicle.
   The driver, Ms. Heisler, had outstanding warrants for her arrest. She was additionally charged with contempt of court, failure to produce documents, windshield obstruction, driving while suspended, being an unlicensed driver, operating a motor vehicle with in possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS), and possession of CDS paraphernalia, police said. She was arrested, charged and released to the Hopewell Police Department on outstanding warrants.
   The passenger, Ms. Johnson, was additionally charged with possession of CDS in a motor vehicle and released on her own recognizance pending a court date.


   A woman reported that her pink Coach handbag containing $65 in cash, a cosmetics bag, and eyeglasses, had been stolen from her vehicle while parked in the parking lot at the stores at 34 Robbinsville-Allentown Road.
   Patrolman William Swanhart took the report from the victim at police headquarters at 2:36 p.m., Aug. 14. The total value of the stolen items was $1,400.


   An employee of a Route 130 South business reported a driver obtained $28 in fuel and left without paying at 1:45 p.m., Aug. 15.
   Patrolman Thomas Egan took the report.


   A resident of Newtown Boulevard reported at 6:22 p.m., Aug. 15 that sometime during the prior night someone removed $25 worth of gas from her vehicle’s gas tank.
   Patrolman Adrian Markowski took the report.


   William Barron, 21, of Hamilton, was charged with driving while intoxicated at 2:06 a.m., Aug. 16, police said.
   Patrolman Shawn Bruton conducted a traffic stop on Sharon Road near Route 130 after seeing a vehicle with a non-working brake light failing to maintain its lane and failing to signal a lane change. While speaking with the driver, the officer detected evidence of intoxication. Mr. Barron subsequently failed field sobriety tests, police said.
   Mr. Barron was additionally charged with careless driving, reckless driving, improper maintenance of lamps, failure to maintain lane, failure to use a turn signal, having an obstructed windshield, and creating a risk of an accident, police said. He was processed and released pending a future court date.


   Niraj Pathak, 18, of Newark, Delaware, was charged with possession of marijuana and other offenses after a traffic stop at 10 a.m., Aug. 16 on Interstate 195 East, police said.
   Patrolman Scott Kivet stopped Mr. Pathak’s vehicle for failing to move over for an emergency vehicle that had its lights activated on the side of the roadway. While speaking to the driver, the officer detected evidence of narcotics and a vehicle search recovered a small amount of marijuana and paraphernalia, police said.
   Mr. Pathak was also charged with possession of CDS paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle while in possession of CDS, failure to move over, and having an obstructed windshield, police said. He was processed and released pending court.


   Two Trek mountain bikes, a toolbox containing assorted tools, and a Ryobi drill were reported stolen from a garage on Garden Place at 11:47 a.m., Aug. 17.
   The total value of the stolen items was $1,200. Patrolman William Swanhart took the report.


   A weed-wacker, edger, and hedge trimmer were reported stolen from a garage on Everett Street at 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 17.
   The total value of the stolen items was $200. Patrolman Eric Bakay took the report from the victim at police headquarters.


   Robbinsville residents Michael Delre, 21, and Matthew Delre, 18, were charged with possession of marijuana at 1:43 p.m., Aug. 18, police said.
   Patrolman William Swanhart saw the brothers sitting on a park bench on Lake Drive passing a smoking product between themselves amidst a cloud of white smoke, police said. As the officer approached, he smelled burning marijuana, police said.
   Both men were found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana, police said. They were arrested, charged and released pending a future court date.


   A Honeysuckle Drive resident reported the theft of outdoor landscaping lights to police at 4:49 p.m., Aug. 18. The lights were valued at $60.

   Joseph Maloney Jr., 20, of Robbinsville, was charged with driving while intoxicated after a car accident at 2:17 a.m., Aug. 19 on Gordon Road near Route 539, police said.
   Patrolman Adrian Markowski responded to the accident and found a telephone police snapped in half that was hanging by wires in the middle of the road. Mr. Maloney’s car was pulled off the road onto the grass by the side of the roadway.
   After speaking to the driver, the officer determined there was evidence of intoxication, police said. Mr. Maloney was placed under arrest and transported by EMS to a hospital for evaluation.
   Mr. Maloney was additionally charged with careless driving, reckless driving, operating an uninsured vehicle, failing to maintain lane, underage DWI, failure to exhibit license, registration and insurance, and failure to wear a seatbelt. He was released to a family member pending a future court date.


   Christopher Sauter, 19, of Bensalem, Pennsylvania; Sean Macartney, 19, of Philadelphia; and Ryan St. John, 19, of Philadelphia; were charged with possession of marijuana at 11:59 a.m., Aug. 20, police said.
   Patrolman Scott Kivet saw a vehicle make an unsafe lane change on Interstate 195 and pulled it over. While speaking with the occupants the officer detected evidence there was narcotics in the vehicle and that the driver, Mr. Sauter, was intoxicated, police said.
   Mr. Sauter failed field sobriety tests and a search of the vehicle revealed a small quantity of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, police said.
   All three men were charged with possession of marijuana and possession of CDS paraphernalia. Mr. Sauter was additionally charged with DWI, operating a vehicle while in possession of CDS, careless driving, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane and windshield obstruction, police said.
   The men were arrested, processed and released pending a future court date.


   An employee of a Route 130 South business reported that someone received $67 worth of fuel and left without paying at 12:44 p.m., Aug. 24.

   A motor vehicle struck a telephone pole on Route 130 North in front of police headquarters at 12:25 a.m. on Aug. 25 and knocked out power and phone service to the Police Department for nearly four hours, police said.
   Emergency generators were used to power essential equipment and the East Windsor and West Windsor police departments assisted with answering 911 calls. The Mercer County Sheriff’s Mobile Command Unit was utilized as a contingency to supplement communications during the outage.
   The driver, whose identity was not released, was transported to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries that were not life threatening, police said. The crash was caused by driver fatigue, police said.


   A Hibiscus Lane resident reported the theft of his vehicle’s rims and tires at 8:03 a.m., Aug. 25.
   The victim told Patrolman Scott Kivet that sometime during the prior night someone removed all four rims and tires and left his vehicle on concrete blocks. The rims and tires were valued at $4,000.


   A resident of Ivanhoe Drive reported the theft of a GPS and a fuel card at 11:55 a.m., Aug. 25.
   The victim said the items, valued at $100, were stolen sometime during the night prior from two vehicles parked on his driveway. Patrolman Robert Morgano took the report.


   An Amberfield Road resident reported the theft of a GPS at 2:10 p.m., Aug. 25.
   The victim said the GPS, valued at $175, was stolen from her vehicle sometime during the night prior. Sgt. Mark Lee took the report.
