Scout troop to raise
cash by washing cars
   Saturday, Sept. 8 — Troop 1776 is holding a car wash fundraiser at Hillsborough Elementary School, corner of Route 206 and Amwell Road. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. $5 cars or $7 for trucks or vans. This event is to help the troop with trips and equipment.

   Sunday, Sept. 9 — Hillsborough High School Marching Band and Color Guard students will wash cars as a fundraiser from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Hillsborough Elementary School, Amwell Road at Route 206. Cost is $5 per car or $7 per van.
Opening night
unveils stage year
   Monday, Sept. 10 — Hillsborough High School Theatre presents its opening night concert at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of the school, 466 Raider Blvd., to announce the 2012-13 high school theater season.
   Broadway actors/actresses from “In the Heights,” “The Lion King,” “Sister Act,””Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark” and “Wicked” are scheduled to perform. $5 admission donation requested. Firehouses host
9-11 remembrances
   Tuesday, Sept. 11 — Volunteer Fire Company No. 3 will hold a 9-11 remembrance ceremony at the 9-11 Memorial Garden at the firehouse on Woods Road. The event will start at 7 p.m. and will recognize the terrorist attacks on U.S. soil on the date in 2001. The event is open to the public of all ages.
   Fire Company No. 2 will hold its 9-11 ceremony at the Route 206 firehouse at 9:45 a.m. It will last 30 to 45 minutes. The public is welcome.

   Saturday, Sept. 15 — Reserve a spot by today for the Millstone Valley Columbiettes second annual vendor fair at St. Joseph’s Parish in Hillsborough on Oct. 24. Vendors will pay $35 for a spot.
