The Friends of the Hillsborough Library will sponsor an Abraham Lincoln program for anyone 12 and older at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 at the library at 379 South Branch Road.
Learn about “Ten Moral Moments in the Life of Abraham Lincoln” from historian Glenn Le Boeuf, who will tell stories and anecdotes of the 16th president as an example of dedication to truth, restraint and resolve.
The Hillsborough library will be closed on Monday, Sept. 3, for Labor Day. Sunday hours of 1 to 5 p.m., will begin Sept. 9.
Upcoming programs intended for adults. Registration is required:
• Zumba — Six-week series begins Wednesday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. As long as you’re moving and having fun, there is no wrong way to Zumba. Wear comfortable clothing and bring water.
• Friday night movie — “Five-Year Engagement,” staring Jason Segel, Emily Blunt and Chris Pratt and rated R, will be shown Sept. 7 at 7 p.m.
• The Peace Conference of Sept. 11, 1776 — Donald Johnstone Peck, an author, historian and preservationist, will lead a look at fascinating dimensions of Revolutionary War history. Monday, Sept.10, at 7 p.m.
• Introduction to Microsoft Word 2007 — A limited number of library laptops are available for attendees’ use. Registration is open now. This two-hour class covers the same material covered in two-session classes. Tuesday, Sept.11, at 2 p.m.

• Teen Crafternoon (grades 6-12) — Need to cover your textbooks? Stop by Back to School program and we’ll provide supplies to help. Please arrive between 4 and 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, although program goes to 5:30 p.m.
• Singing Babies with Ann Wild (ages newborn to 24 months) — Start your little one to a lifetime love of music making. Friday, Sept. 7, at 10 a.m.
• First Look Books (grades 6-12) — Get a sneak peek at new teen titles before they hit the shelves! Tell us what you think, and take one home. Monday, Sept. 10, from 5 to 6 p.m.
• Tail Waggin’ Tutors (grades K-4 only) — Children read to Therapy Dog International’s Xena, who will listen to each registered child for 10 minutes. Online registration is not available; call or stop by the Children’s Desk. Arrive early; if you are late you will lose your slot. Wednesday, Sept.12, from 4 to 5 p.m.
• Music to Move By (ages 2-6) — Join Ann Wild and introduce your child to music and movement in this interactive program. Saturday, Sept.15, at 10 a.m.
